Farmer's Market Soup

Using natural light from my kitchen window, I placed my Farmer's Market Soup where i could capture the nutritious contents. This delicious soup was made with organic zucchini and butternut squash, broccoli, cauliflower, corn, chopped red onion, red & yellow peppers, fresh garlic, dried chili pepper, and organic chicken broth. Farm-to-table is all about producing food locally with an emphasis on freshness, seasonality, locality, and often - organic. It's a trend in eating that continues to sweep across America. I tried to capture the notion that healthy, sustainable nutrition can be colorful and inviting too. I thought this might be a way to highlight sustainable farming practices that produce food and fiber by incorporating techniques that promote healthy soils and clean water. Sustainable practices can be crop rotation, conservation tillage, and ones that support biodiversity. Sometimes it's as simple as saying "No" to pesticides and GMO's - which is the way of organics.
