Feluca on the Strait of Messina
A “Feluca” swordfish fishing boat is navigating in proximity of the Calabrian coast in Scilla. Those vessels are unique of this stretch of mediterranean sea and the swordfish fishing has very ancestral origins. Although this fishing technique has lost his commercial value it is maintained as a matter of tradition and proudness. In-fact the crew members are either reformed or has other jobs but during the catching season, which last from June to August, if the weather condition allow, they are on the sea every day.
