23rd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Wildlife
Female Osprey.
New harbor resident. In Spring of 2024 a pair of Ospreys took up residence on a harbor radio beacon tower in Port Jefferson Marina. I was able to photograph the female quite easily but the male always seemed to be out fishing.
