Salmon Research
In Lake Aleknagik, Alaska, a research scientist handles and anesthetized sockeye salmon for tagging studies on their spawning grounds. Bristol Bay sockeye salmon are one of the few remaining salmon stocks that are as healthy as they have ever been, thanks to the foresight of commercial fishing companies, early established research programs, and environmentally minded peoples.
