Fennel Weaver Spider with Ant Meal

Funnel weaver spiders are named for the funnel shape of their webs. These spiders wait at the mouth of their webs for insects to pass. When the spiders feel vibrations from an insect walking on their web, they rush out with incredible speed to ambush their prey. In this image, a spider had captured an ant.
