This photo was taken in Newport, Rhode Island in March of 2020. It was one of my last trips home before lockdown, and before I flew back out west, I was able to visit the lighthouse and catch this sunset on my iPhone. It was a somber day, and nature was being moody and unpredictable as always, but it was also very peaceful. This photo perfectly captured how I felt in that moment, watching the waves crash, knowing that everything was going to change. The only constant in life is change, and the ocean waves never cease to remind me of that fact that we have no choice but to adapt. There’s no point in fighting against the waves.
