Finding Sweetvetch
This photo shows Inuit father, Wally Otton teaching his son how to dig Sweetvetch from the Alaskan Tundra. Sweetvetch, also know in the Inupiaq language as "Machu" is a potato like root that grows wild in the permafrost. The root is important in the Inuit sustenance lifestyle.
