First Rising - I captured this photo in Nairobi National Park on a very foggy early morning as this giraffe was standing up from its resting position. I was the first into the Park and spotted it in a sitting position within five minutes of entry and spent a good twenty minutes or so observing it in silence as it looked back at me. I waited patiently for it to stand up, as I knew it would as the Park got more busy and other cars came close to up. As I anticipated we heard the roar of a big diesel 4x4 engine approaching and the giraffe in one quick motion started to raise itself at which point I clicked and captured this image, slightly less graceful but no less unique and beautiful.Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 16-35mm wide angle, f/4.0, 1/125, 35mm, ISO 1250.
