A German, a Swede, and a Czech and I all celebrate after our successful crossing of our first ice-cold river on the Pacific Crest Trail section north of Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park. Yosemite, and increasingly the Pacific Crest Trail, are inseparable names from the American outdoors, and as the only American in the group, I was so proud to be able to share our public lands with my European friends.
