Fish Eating Crocodile

The gharial (also called gavial) is a riverine fish-eating crocodile native to the Indian sub-continent. Its trademark narrow, long snout with razor-sharp teeth helps it fish in the murky river waters. Due to loss of riverine habitat, the gharial is now a critically endangered species, with an estimated population of less than 235 in the wild.
