14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Sustainable Travel
Fisheries and a National Park together
Image showing local fisherman of the Galapagos cleaning fish while a sea lion waits for scraps. At one time competitors, the animals of the Galapagos live side by side with the local people, both benefiting from conservation and sustainability actions led by research from the Charles Darwin research station. My involvement as a volunteer to strengthen the Research Station through design and creation of the Charles Darwin Exhibition Hall is helping contribute to the understanding of the need for sustainable resource use.
