Fisherman in Cat Ba, Vietnam
Cat Ba Island is the largest of the 366 islands that makes up the Halong Bay archipelago in Northern Vietnam and the only one that provides a substantial settlement. Cat Ba has several fishing villages as well as a fast-growing town. Most residents earn their living from the sea, while others cater to the tourist trade. In a typical fisherman household, men are the main participants in the fishing activities. This is a photo of a fisherman casting his net in the early morning in Cat Ba.
