A fisherman glides among old trees on the rising water of Lake Baringo. According to some estimates, the surface of Lake Baringo has expanded 6% in the last 2 years, flooding villages, displacing local residents and destroying local businesses. There is not a convincing explanation for this phenomenon, but experts noted that the increase in the lake coincides with increased rainfall linked to deforestation and climate change.
