Fishing in Hue

A fisherman checks his net in Hue, Vietnam. Vietnamese are exceptionally inventive when it comes to fishing nets. This is one the many unique Vietnamese arrangements, a piece of ancient technology: a system of ropes and wooden poles designed to lower a giant net into water and lift it out again with the help of a simple manual wrench.
