Fishing in the Bay of Bengal
In winter, fishermen from Teknaf go out in groups early in the morning to catch various species of marine fish from different points in the Bay of Bengal. Basically, a group of 15-20 people cast a net each. First, they cast the net from a boat and then everyone pulls the net together and brings it to the shore. Although it is a lot of physical labor, many fish are caught in this net. After catching it, the fishermen are very excited and take these fish to Cox's Bazar, Chittagong and Dhaka for sale. Seeing the fish in the net, the Brown-Headed Gull flocks to eat the fish.
