I am enrolled in a Master’s Program at Antioch University New England and last spring signed up for Food Systems of Cuba which involved a ten-day trip to visit Cuba’s urban agricultural cooperatives. A nightly event for the locals of Havana is strolling along the Malecὁn and throwing out simple fishing lines to see if they could supplement their ration book diet with a lucky catch. I think Educational Travel represents the best in sustainable travel. It is more of a cultural exchange than just regular consumer tourism.
