Escape... A skilled surfer rides a turbulent tide in the Atlantic off the coast of New Jersey. The colors were brilliant; however, not wanting a standard suffer on water image I took some artistic license. I thought the imagery seemed more dramatic void of color, darkened with minimal clarity. The black and white image created tension as the threatening waters churned around the figure. His surfboard is almost invisible as he seems to be running on top of the turbulence trying to escape the shadowy figure behind him.
