I was hiking Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver, and I was told of a raptor recovery demonstration. I was excited to see a bald eagle up close but this great horned owl was an unexpected surprise. what an amazing animal! I positioned myself as close as I could to the action and cranked up my shutter speed as the trainers warned that the birds will be flying directly over our heads.
