Below the Howrah Bridge on the banks of Hooghly River is the Mullick Ghat flower market which is more than 120 year old, the largest in Kolkata, and one of the biggest in Asia. People travel all over the city and suburbs to sell and buy flowers here in this market every morning which starts around 4 am in the morning. The flower sellers bring with them a very wide variety of flowers of different hues and colors. The flower shops lined on either side presents a surreal view and the market remains chaotic and overcrowded at all times, but still offers an unique experience. The market becomes even more lively and vibrant during festive and marriage seasons.
