Masai Mara, Kenya. The great migration in the Mara/Serengeti is probably one of the most amazing spectacles that nature has to offer. I have been going to the Mara for 10 years and never managed to photograph a river crossing in amazing light until last September. It was toward the end of the trip and I had already photographed a few impressive crossings but all during the day in fairly flat light. We went to the Mara river very early as a wildebeest buildup had started next to one of the main crossing points. We didn't have to wait long before the first animals started to cross immediately followed by the main group.
