Foam from irrigation water
Foam from irrigation water released from the effluent treatment plant in Jajmau, Kanpur, India. Even after the treatment, this water contains Hexavalent chromium, a highly toxic carcinogen. It acidifies the soil and seeps into the groundwater and finds its way into the Ganges. Despite being revered as a goddess by millions in India, the Ganges is one of the most polluted river in India.
