"Pulling Song" is a traditional game, praising the martial spirit of people in river areas. The game has long been organized by many villages and communes in Binh Xuyen district during early spring festivals. The game is derived from the strategic tactics and naval warfare training of generals during the period against the Southern Han army. The game, which resembles tug-of-war, has become an annual traditional festival of the people of Huong Canh, Binh Xuyen and Vinh Phuc. In 2014, the Huong Canh "Song Pulling" Festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
