Forgotten Treasure
While recently traveling through the Azores, I snuck into the abandoned Monte Palace Hotel. Shuttered nearly three decades ago, it's a hollow shell of what was once considered the ultimate in luxury travel. The flooded first floor gives off a feeling of damp loneliness. These emotions of longing made the building a great place to photograph. Time may stand still there, but deterioration does not.
