Forlorn tree growing out of Half Dome in Yosemite.

Depicts a foggy morning in Yosemite National Park on the Half Dome trail. The tree was cracked in half by lightning during the storm the previous night. Overcoming all natural barriers to grow out of the side of a massive granite slab, the tree survived against all odds; despite its efforts, it was cracked in half by the very force that allowed it to grow.
