Fox posed on a downed tree
It's shots like this that really keep me in the pursuit of great and engaging wildlife imagery. Sometimes it can be weeks before a camera trap produces any images of critters, and it can sometimes be months before the right amount of luck brings all the components together for a usable shot. I had been working this fox for a few weeks with nothing more to show than a few hundred shots of fox butt in the rain, I kept changing camera angles and strobe positions, wiping my lens every moment between, before weather broke and I finally got this shot of her facing the camera.
