18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Fragment

In this photographs I've departed from a conventional photographic portrait to render it through constructive and deconstructive methods. To disrupt photography's flat, two-dimensional surface I cut and reassembled the image to build a three-dimesional sculptural work. I used photography as the basis for the three-dimensional object as a means to challenge our visual perception and to suggest that identity is a social construct.
