16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
Fresh button ups. Taken through the open window of a dry cleaners. Shot on Portra 400 with a Leica M3.
The photo was taken on a Sunday through the open window of a dry cleaners. The repetition of crisp and bright shirts struck me most. There seems to be an interesting conflict between the fresh, airy, implication of a newly pressed white shirt and the weight of the uniformity and 9-5 work week ahead. I thought it spoke to the culture of white collar jobs in America.
