Frisco Pier and the Milky Way
All that's left of the Frisco, NC Pier on the Outer Banks. Built in 1962, this landmark pier has suffered repeated damage over recent years from Hurricane Earl (2010), Irene (2011), and Joaquin (2015). After several attempts to save the pier, it is scheduled for demolition in the fall of 2016.
