Frostbitten Shoreline
This photo was taken in January of 2019, during the infamous polar vortex that hit the Chicagoland area with a -45 degree real feel temperature. This photo depicts the waves of Lake Michigan frozen in place, which extended at least 50 feet from the shoreline. You can also see mist coming off of the lake in the distance, since the temperature of Lake Michigan was so much warmer than the surrounding air.
