This photograph was taken during the full moon low tide on Ton Sai beach in Krabi, Thailand. The tide was so low that you could walk to the next cove, Railay Beach, without even getting wet. The Krabi peninsula is world renown for its amazing rock climbing. That's what my brother, a friend, and I went there to do. What we found though was a tropical paradise, with amazing climbing, hiking, beaches, and wildlife rapidly being taken over by massive luxury resorts. These resorts are building walls and tearing down trees, destroying the natural habitat, and limiting access to the natural beauty of the area. In some places, these resorts charge just for a boat to drop people off on the beach. Areas of the world like this one, as much as people want to go to a tropical resort, must be preserved though sustainable travel. When we were there we stayed at locally run bungalows and ate at locally run restaurants.
