G. mineri on Sea Egg
In the tropical western Atlantic, the squat urchin shrimp live their entire lives entirely within the spines of the West Indian Sea Egg (Tripneustes ventricosus). G. mineri utilizes a single broad stripe along their flanks for camouflage, effectively disrupting their silhouette within their world of lines. These shrimp graze on the thin epithelial layer covering the urchins spines using specialized scraping appendages.
