This photo was taken around 3am, at the top of North Dome in Yosemite National Park. My best friend and I did the backpacking trek over two days, and had plenty of time to enjoy the view of Half Dome and the Valley from the top. We decided to set an alarm for 2am to wake up and take photos of the stars, since the moon would have set by then. We had agreed to shoot for an hour, then get back to sleep before waking up to shoot the sunrise at 5:30am. We became so lost in the stars and trial and error of our photography that we didn’t go back to sleep until 4am.
