Galilean Moons
This a cropped original photograph of Jupiter and its 4 largest moons (Galilean Moons). Earlier that day, it was reported on the radio that the 4 largest moons of Jupiter would be visible that night if binoculars were used. That night, the moons were easily visible even without binoculars. When I photographed them, they were positioned in a straight line. They are in order from furthest to the closest to the planet Callisto, Ganymede, Europa and Io. Cropping the original photo magnifies the surface features of each moon and reveals many of the smaller moons.
