Benaras is well known place for Hindu Pilgrimage in India. Priests pay homage to the mighty river by performing "aarathi" on its banks every evening. A platform has been earmarked on the ghat for this purpose. Hundreds of tourists and local devotees throng to the ghat to witness the ritual.
