Taken at Great Falls National Park in Virginia, a member of my hiking group saw this taking place on a trail and called me over. The snake had grabbed it by the legs and was slowly eating it while the toad was still alive. We stayed to watch the snake finish, then nudged the snake into the grass to digest in piece.
