Memorial Day 2018; a cemetery just outside Gridley, Illinois. I'd been to the cemetery before, I came back on Memorial Day to see, how the community might adorn/celebrate the occasion. Earlier in the year I'd discovered a friend from my childhood was buried here. On my initial visit I found the cemetery had handsome stone and wrought iron gate. I was fascinated. Returning on memorial Day was a "must-do." It was just one of those moments that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
