Generation to continue

Bahurupi is a very old artist community of India since the ancient times. They paint their faces like Hindu GOD and GODDESS and play a mythological dance and drama in the neighborhood places majorly during the festive seasons. This is an art and it flows one generation to another generation. Usually this is a cultural community and they also earn money from this for their livelihood. “Bahurupi” is an Indian word and it means many different forms of character. In the history this culture was very much popular among Indians and rich people used call them to their homes during any kind of holy ritual like marriage and worship. But due to the modernization this is no more an attractive form of art. So the Bahurupi community people of this age are not interested any more in this profession. But still there are few groups and some surviving people carrying this culture along with some regular other vocation.
