Germany's Highest Peak - The Zugspitze
The Zugspitze is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Germany at 2,962 m (9,718 ft) above sea level,. It lies south of the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the Austria–Germany border runs over its western peak. This photo was taken in July 2021 from the a viewing platform where cable cars reach the top nearby. The climbers in the photo start early in the morning to make the climb to the top.
