A member of my Buddhist sangha held a potluck lunch at her farm in Ribera, NM. Our resident teacher Geshe Thubten Sherab, affectionately known as Geshe- La, attended and made fast friends with a turkey on the farm named Mille. She's known for being very gentle, and Geshe- La sat with her and chanted mantras with her for a while. She appeared to fall asleep. It was a beautiful moment.
