Ghost of the White Peaks
This was my first encounter with this incredible creature, a moment of profound fortune given its perilous status. The sight reaffirmed everything I knew about its wild majesty: its muscular build and non-retractable claws—tools that make it an excellent climber and digger in this punishing terrain. Sadly, this majestic animal is a Critically Endangered species. Its battle for survival is fought on multiple fronts like Poaching for Its fur, claws, and organs are highly prized in traditional medicine, Human-Wildlife Conflict, Crucial habitat is shrinking due to commercial logging, particularly the destruction of the buransh tree forests.
