Gilberta Leporati Lodi and her lost son, 1929, after Barbieri
Just 28 years old herself with her son Ermanno; he died by year's end at 7, she bore another Ermanno the next year. They are all buried in Bologna. I can almost hear his uncertain voice: "But why do I have to go, Mama?" She is so gentle with him.
