I was standing on the edge of a busy parking lot and happened to notice this caterpillar crawling near me. The weather was overcast and windy and a bit damp from early morning rains. Perhaps the caterpillar had fallen from a nearby tree. Besides being a remarkable bit of wildlife in a busy urban center, this small creature's body seemed to glow against the surface of a damp parking lot in the spring in San Antonio, Texas.
