Golden Eagle on Pikes Peak

This large golden eagle landed on a granite outcropping at the summit of Pikes Peak (14,115 ft.). It is surveying the vastness of the American landscape - including the "purple mountain majesties" that gave rise the the song "American the Beautiful". The boulders are the size of small cars, and the drop off behind them is mesmerizing. There is also small bird on the rock to the left that gives some scale to the size of the eagle.
