Golden Monkey behind a seed pod
Monkey tours in Rwanda help pay for roofs on houses, schools and shoes for citizens. This in turn removes much of the motivation of citizens to turn habitat into farms or to set traps for game animals which can also kill monkeys and gorillas. Golden monkeys come to the ground in October to eat the tender new bamboo starts. There are myriad species of plants in the area, and this one was looking for bamboo from behind a group of seeds on a small tree.
