Golden Silk Orb-weaver
The largest of spider species. The one shown here is a female. If laid out flat including legs can be up to 12 or more inches long. The male on the other hand is about half the size of a match head. A fascinating species and a powerful hunter. It silk has even been woven into a gold colored piece of tribal clothing and displayed at some museums.
