14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Gone for the Winter

I spent the day at this park (Nathaniel Cole Park) in Upstate, New York with a group of friends----and we took many photos of the landscape around us. The view was absolutely breath-taking------but I was even more captivated with how we captured this time in impressive shots---how we caught nature performing in it's most unbothered state---and how I was able to capture the glimmer of the lake, the color of the sky, the sun setting behind the hill and the birds flying away. I have never been this proud of a shot----especially since it was not altered in any way.
