Goroka Mask Festival
The Goroka Mask Festival Show has been held in Papua New Guinea since the mid-1950's. Around 100 tribes from the surrounding areas gather to exhibit their distinct music and dancing. The purpose of these gatherings, known as Sing-Sings, is to peacefully share traditions. Tribes demonstrate their cultural uniqueness by painting their bodies and wearing decorative costumes during this two-day celebration.
