While out on a local trail I had this chance encounter with the pictured Barn Owl. Scanning the trail ahead I could see the barn owl's heart-shaped face and charcoal black eyes soaring gracefully towards, me looking for prey. I quickly stepped to the side of the trail, using a nearby bush as a blind, waiting for perfect opportunity to photograph the owl in flight . I was able to take a number of photos of this owl in flight, this being my favorite. With the large wings spread wide it showcases the intricate patterns of feathers and muted shades of brown and grey. This image captures the essence of nature's beauty and the owl's silent, haunting elegance as it approaches.
