Graffitti while walking along the beach in Asbury Park, NJ

Once a vibrant tourist haven in the early 20th century, Asbury Park, NJ experienced decay for the last 40 years. Admits the heroin and crack dens, a soulful street art scene emerged and has been fueling redevelopment in recent years. This graffiti, painted on a dilapidated building along the boardwalk, demonstrates the city's former vibrance that survived its economic and social collapse.
