23rd Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Artistic
Grain of Wood Carved by Nature
I found this little scrap of wood on the ground from one of the dead pine trees that my husband had cut with his chain saw for our wood stove, and saved it out to photograph. I was attracted to the intricate design. It was small enough to fit on one of our car's door handles and captured this photo with my Nikon Cool Pix P900 camera with the sky and clouds reflecting. It looked magical and decided not to clone out the white powdery dust that came off our car intensified by using flash and think of it as Pixie dust:-)
